This is a tool that will help view and read MDF files without the need for installing SQL Server.
If you are a SQL Server user and want to open and read the MDF files, this free tool will let you do that. There will be no need to have the SQL Server installed on your system. Sometimes you need the ability to open and view these MDF files. This is particularly true if the file is corrupted for some reason and you want to access the files and try and correct entries in the files. These corruptions can easily happen for any number of reasons, including hardware failure, application failure, virus attack, trojan attack etc. You can re-configure the SQL Server database but you cannot access MDF file after corruption happens. This tool then can let you access and open the files and let you correct the problems. You can easily access the info stored in SQL MDF files. The tool is able to read MDF contents stored in tables, stored procedure, views, triggers, rules and functions.
The interface is straightforward and is easy to get productive with. The choices on the left lets you select the items (table, triggers, stored procedures, etc.) that you want to open. The main display then shows the content for reading, making sure if corruption has happened and then make the necessary corrections. This is a handy tool for the specific functionality. If you have need for this you should take advantage of the trial period to check if it runs to your satisfaction.
